Tomoko graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2007 from the University of Queensland. Since then she has worked in a variety of caseloads across both the public and private sectors in Australia and as well as in Canada. She worked in brain injury and geriatric rehabilitation for a number of years before focusing only on hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Tomoko completed a hand therapy fellowship in 2017 in Vancouver Canada and was certified in hand therapy under the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). She has been a speaker at the British Columbia Hand Society annual meeting in 2018, and enjoys providing undergraduate and graduate mentorship and education.
