Currently the initial 30782QLD course in functioning as a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator provides a sound introduction to rehabilitation and return to work for trainees and meets employer legislative obligations.  However, based on industry research it has been established that best practice rehabilitation and return to work is only achieved when there is substantial organisational knowlege and support for the process.

The following courses offer organisations the options to meet rehabilitation and return to work legislative obligations and provide additional education that will up-skill and support coordinators in their role and assist management achieve best practice outcomes.

30782QLD - Course IN functioning as a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator

This course is designed for anyone who works or would like to work as a registered Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) in accordance with the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.

Our industry recognised trainers deliver in a practical manner using interesting case studies and real life experience to explain legislation and the worker's compensation processes.  Our approach ensures knowledge and skills are developed so that the functions of the RRTWC may be carried out with confidence in the workplace.

After successfull completion of course,  partipants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and will be eligible to register as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator with Q-COMP.

Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Re-certification

Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) registration expires after 3 years.  This one-day update will renew your registration, ensuring your knowledge and skills are maintained and also provide you with an opportunity to review your role and organisation's performance.

This course focuses on latest injury trends, compensation and return to work issues, legislative changes and their impact on the scheme.  RRTWC are given the opportunity to discuss and resolve common issues amongst their peers, gaining a valuable insight to best practice in  rehabilitation processes.

Successful completion of Course enables registration as Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator by Q-COMP for 3 years.

Harmonisation - Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators for NSW and Victoria

This course is designed for Queensland registered RRTWCs who require knowledge to effectively operate within the workers' compensation systems of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Content compares and contrasts the differences in each scheme in areas of legislative obligations of employers and injured workers, claim and insurer processes, compensation and entitlements, rehabilitation and return to work obligations and common law actions.

Successful completion of Course will enable the participant to register with the New South Wales and Victorian WorkCover authorities.

Frontline injury management

Current rehabiliation industry research indentifies Supervisors / Front Line Managers as having the most pivotal role in the successful rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers.  Despite this significance, there has been an industry vacuum in the provision of quality training to assist supervisors.

This course ensures the frontline manager gains an understanding of the workers' compensation system and the benefits of effective workplace rehabilitation.  With deeper knowledge and skill, the frontline manager can undertake their role and confidently assist their RRTWCs and Human Resource managers achieve early and sustained return to work outcomes.

Particpants who complete the course will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

Mental Health Awareness

Many RRTWCs find the management and return to work of psychological injuries both complex and frustrating.  This four-hour seminar will assist in increasing the understanding of mental illness in four areas:    

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Psychosis
  • Substance abuse

thus, reducing any fear or stigma that may be present.  Mental Health Awareness aims to provide skills and confidence to effectively manage injured workers suffering psychological injury (PPIs).

This seminar does not seek to provide particpants with counselling or therapy qualifications; but will clarify the distinctive difference between the role of practising Mental Health First Aid versus that of the medical professional.

Stress Management and WEllness in the Worplace

Stress Management and Wellness in the Workplace is a very solution-focussed seminar, which will provide particpants with practical strategies for managing their stress and will assist them to better understand themselves and others.  It teaches strategies to better manage reactions to stressors in their environment, how to communicate and set boundaries more effectively and how to create goals for wellness and work-life balance in their lives.

Understanding and Managing Different Personalities in the Workplace

This four hour seminar will assist participants to understand personality as a concept, as well as recognising their own and others' personality styles.  It will examine the key difference between "types", their strengths and limitations, how different styles think about time management, conflict and criticism, what motives them, and how to more effectively communicate with each personality style.  In the modern business world, this is a key skill that will allow participants to better manage, coach and support colleagues and staff.

Office Workstation Assessor Workshop

The Office Workstation Assessor workshop is specifcally designed to give participants the practical skills to carry out assessments of the ergonomic and health and safety aspects of office workstations.  During this one day workshop, participants will gain the skills and confidence to carry out structered assessments within their own organisation and to compile clear and concise reports.

In addition to gaining valuable knowledge about how to be personally safe and comfortable at work, particpants will find themselves well pllaced to assist their current (or future) employer to discharge legislative duties to appropriately induct, educate and monitor employees who carry out work at office workstations.
